From row-boating, walking on frozen lakes, hiking to caves and waterfalls, to reading new books and learning new things; everyday holds an exciting adventure for the family! And now she has made her dream of being an author a reality by writing her first children's book "Dreamland with Mommy". It's the first book in the series "Yousuf's Everyday Adventures". The second book "Beautifully Different" will be coming out April 2017. (So stay tuned!)

Dana's childhood adventures were split between Amman, Jordan and Vancouver, Canada. She finished Industrial Engineering at the University of Jordan before moving to Ohio, which was home for four awesome years. And now she resides in McAllen, Texas where she is always on the lookout for new adventures with her family.

Dana founded DS Publishing, LLC with her husband in August, 2016. Their mission is to provide products that instill and encourage diversity, acceptance and confidence in one's self and dreams.

And if there's one thing she would want to tell you right now it would be "Believe in yourself and go after your dreams, it's never too early or too late. Right now is the best time to do it!"

It’s bedtime. But Yousuf really doesn’t want to go to sleep – not yet. So his mother suggests a time travel dream game. She starts the story as Yousuf lies tucked in bed, telling the story in rhyming verse. From a swim in a strawberry pie to a blasting shower from some elephants, Yousuf is then met by a pirate whose ship sails on wheels. The pirate has a riddle for Yousuf and he must answer it correctly or shave his head. Yousuf doesn’t want to shave his head; he rather likes his hair. But just like the riddle, life can be very fragile and precious. The adventure continues until Yousuf starts to drift into sleep and into a dreamland of his own.

Dana Salim’s picture book story, Dreamland with Mommy, is a sweet tale to charm any young reader, and hopefully set them off into a deep sleep full of fascinating dream adventures just like Yousuf’s. The author uses an interesting parable from the Qur’an and makes it into part of Yousuf’s dream adventure. As Yousuf enjoys his adventures he and the readers of his story are also learning some interesting facts about life. This is a great way to weave adventure and fantasy into a child’s vivid imagination and help them drift off to sleep and enter a dreamland of their own. It is also a great way to promote mother-child bonding, time well spent between a mother and her child. This is a very passionate story in all its simplicity. The illustrations are as beautiful as the story itself.
