Author Biography

Dear Readers,
My inspiration for writing this story came from members of a real family. Over 20 years ago I gathered information and heard their stories but never in my wildest dreams did I entertain the idea of writing a novel. Though I enjoyed creative writing since high school, even essays, I only wrote poetry, verse, short stories, and flash fiction.
In 2009 the youngest family member told me stories I hadn’t heard before. I made the remark, “I didn’t know you had such a colorful family.” Without hesitation, she said, “You should write a book!” I replied, “Who me?”
Well, in 2011 I decided to try my hand at writing the story but I was lost. So, I called a friend of mine, a professional writer, for advice. Without her, there wouldn’t be a beginning.
After years of working on the book---on the shelf more than off due to a full-time job---and with too many drafts to count, at last, it’s finished.
May this story inspire readers of all walks of life as it inspired me. Though a cliché it’s true---we all are stronger than we think we are. Go for the brass ring! Pursue your dreams and never give up hope! You can do it!
Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the book.
All my best,
TJL

Love Laugh and Row by Trisa J. Louise is about a family who flees from Russia in 1906, away from the Czar and his henchmen who killed innocent demonstrators in 1905. The author takes one family on a journey to America where they hope to create a new life. The family comprises Aleksander and Greta Kristoff, the parents, with their children George and Filippa. In America, they have Bepa, David, Eric, Boris-Julian, and the youngest, Anna. This family takes life by the horns and doesn’t let go, no matter what life throws at them.

Trisa J. Louise has used the story of this family to show the reader that no matter what happens in life or how life always seems to be better for other people but not you, and how you seem to be struggling just to keep your head above water, there is always a way to survive and come out on top - you just have to have the determination and drive to overcome adversity. The author also makes use of her minor characters that waltz in and out of this family’s life, helping them to overcome in both good and bad times. The author catches the reader's attention from the opening paragraph to the very last page of the book and holds the reader spellbound. Trisa uses her characters to her best advantage to keep the reader interested, and a most unusual twist in the tale at the end will have the reader elated. This book is well worth more than one read and should have pride of place on anyone’s bookshelf. Thank you for an exciting, very inspirational, and interesting read, Trisa. I really enjoyed it.
