Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox is a work of fiction in the fantasy and thriller genres. It is aimed at the mature end of the young adult reading group and upward, and was penned by author J. Rene Munz. The book follows Lowie Mortem as he finds himself in a different version of the world after he prevents the apocalypse from unfolding. Now without powers or anything to mark him out as extraordinary, Lowie is ready to accept this safer and quieter version of his life until he is framed for a heinous crime and ends up on the run. With the help of Angelique Coffin, Lowie must undo the altered timeline.

Lowie Mortem is a fast-paced thriller that follows forensic detective Lowie Mortem as he takes on his most intense case yet, and I for one was swept along with the ride from the opening pages. One of my favorite things about this novel was the vivid full-color illustrations, which helped to add depth to the story and really set the mood for each proceeding chapter. The imagination and creativity really shone through in the plot, characters, and illustrations which I felt set this book apart from others within the genre. Author J. Rene Munz has masterfully created enigmatic, fierce, and interesting characters in Lowie and Angelique, making them engaging characters to follow. The plot has everything you would want and more; intrigue, tension, and moments of terror which will keep you on the edge of your seat as you wait to see what happens next. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox to fans of dynamic detective stories, and mystery fans alike.

It's 13th-century France. Vampires Chabrielle and Von Sipherius welcome the birth of their twin daughters. But the celebratory day takes a dark turn when the Knights Templar arrive to extinguish their lives for their past crimes against humans. The girls get separated as Angelique Coffin is chosen to be raised by the Order of the Temple, and Ingrid d'Yves is adopted into the home of Count Robert II d'Yves and Countess Amanda. In the present day, Lowie Mortem is plagued by visions of his dead brother Fabian and the mysterious Angelique. After a routine patrol leads him to the dead body of a priest, Lowie finds himself arrested for the murder. Things escalate further when Ingrid d'Yves presents herself as Lowie's lawyer. If action-packed graphic novels are your passion, Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox by J. Rene Munz is just the book for you.

Fast-paced, ultra-violent, and wildly entertaining, Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox is an adrenaline-pumping ride into the unknown that you just don't want to get off. Equipped with a lightning-fast plot that is readily complemented by some wondrously creative artwork, J. Rene Munz's action-oriented thriller hits you with a blast of comic book style storytelling that you can't help but entertain yourself with. The action scenes feel like something out of anime, painted by visceral imagery of words that leave nothing to the imagination. I felt the non-linear structure of the narrative made the story all the more immersive. I had a blast reading Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox. Recommended to fans of graphic novels.

Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox is the second novel in the Lowie Mortem series by J Rene Munz. Lowie just saved the world, and he expected it to be right again. Wrong. Lowie woke up in an alternate reality where he was back to his old self, and nothing was how he remembered it. His powers were gone, and it appeared that he was once again a normal man. However, Lowie was wrong. Things took a sinister turn when he was arrested, and he had no idea how he would get out of trouble this time. Bad things kept happening around him, and he had no idea how he could stop it without his powers. Someone had twisted the timelines and was purposefully messing with Lowie. His only hope was Angelique, but could she turn things back to normal? Or was this the end of the road for Lowie?

J Rene Munz introduced action from the very first sentence and kept it moving forward until the end. Lowie was a compelling protagonist; he drove the narrative forward and gave readers a reason to keep reading. I enjoyed his reactions the most. They were pure, unadulterated genius and made him human. He hated being incapable of doing anything useful, and that messed with him the most. The narrative ran smoothly; the mystery behind the timeline shift and the suspense behind who did it were all handled exceptionally well by the author. I felt like I was watching an action-packed movie, to be honest. Everything was inexplicably detailed and brought to life. Perfectly crafted to entertain for hours. Reading Lowie Mortem: Time Paradox was an absolute pleasure. I hope the author writes a novel with Angelique at the center because that would be a joy to read.
