My Blank Page: The Power Of Imagination by Tracy Weldon is a colorful, beautifully illustrated adventure about a bored boy who uses his imagination and a blank piece of paper to transport himself to exciting new worlds full of lively characters and surprises. He soon realizes that he can be anyone he wants to be and go anywhere he’d like to go if he simply lets his mind imagine the possibilities. When he spots a pirate ship in the distance through the lens of his imaginary telescope, that's when the fun begins! The story entertains while encouraging creative play and demonstrating the importance of incorporating imaginative fun into the lives of children. It also prompts the reader to ask themselves what they could do if they sat down with a blank piece of paper and allowed the magic of their mind to take over.
My Blank Page: The Power Of Imagination by Tracy Weldon is the perfect book for children (and parents) if they want to open up their child’s creative abilities and show just how much joy there is in taking a break from electronics and setting aside time to create their very own wondrous adventure. I highly recommend My Blank Page: The Power Of Imagination to teachers, school libraries, and parents because creative learning/play is hugely important for children's educational and developmental needs. I think the story and concept itself is delightful, and I love how the author brings awareness to such an important topic in such a colorful, humorous way. The book is well-written, the illustrations fantastic, and what a positive message!
