Promised is the third book in The Skyborne Legacy by Cheney Leigh Scott. The story of the Skyborne continues as Blue and Lucian find out that there is more to their relationship than they bargained for. Blue Tempest is a witch and she knows that Skyborne warriors don’t have the best relationship with her kind. Mating such a warrior can only bring good to her race, but when she finds out that the mate chosen for her is none other than Lucian Kincaid, a warrior known for killing too many of her kind, she knows that this decision will not be easy. But both of them are smart and they both want something out of it. They are relying on their individual powers and their need to make their end of the bargain work, but what they didn’t anticipate was how they would feel about each other. There is something that seems to pull them together and they don’t even want to fight it anymore. But the question is: can they make it work?
This is perhaps my favorite novel out of this series. I enjoyed Lucian and Blue’s relationship, they had the sass and the charisma that made me fall in love with them. The element of family and the theme of finding love were very strong in this book. I adored how the author lovingly gave Lucian and Blue chance after chance to find each other, to try to find the best in the situation and basically helped them realize that they are good for each other. Once again, the pace was perfect, the narrative was smooth and the plot was perfectly entertaining to keep me captivated!
