Author Biography

Lisa Ayotte, an educator in CT, loves finding ways to make reading easier and fun for children. She believes kids learn best when they can visualize and make connections to what they read. And when something is funny to them, even better!
Lisa decided to create her “Peeps” as unique and special as the students she’s taught over her many years as an elementary school teacher. She enjoys designing each scene, adding small details as she goes, to capture the reader's attention and help them focus on the "little" things. Find out more at: punnypeeps.com

Children will love the puns and jokes in Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! Children love jokes and they’ll be memorizing these cute, clean jokes to repeat to family and friends. The photographs will also keep them entertained. This is the eighth book in a series by author Lisa Ayotte that features new and original jokes and puns. Teachers and parents will enjoy it too because it’s funny but also because it will encourage children to read aloud. Students will want to read this book over and over, making it an enjoyable classic. This book reminds me of The Secret Life of Squirrels by Nancy Rose, who makes scenes with red squirrels, but this book features Peeps and contains one-liners. I think my favorite joke is: What did the frog order at the fast food place? (You’ll have to read the book to find out the punch line!) I highly recommend this wonderful and punny book.

There’s a lot of detail in the photographs that will keep children of all ages entertained visually and by the puns. What better way to encourage children to read—to themselves or aloud. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps! is a fun book filled with good, clean humor that will encourage children to love reading. This book is bound to be a classic because it will be enjoyed by all ages over and over again. Author Lisa Ayotte has put a lot of detail into the images that accompany the text on each page. I love the craft suggestions listed at the back. School, public, and home libraries will benefit from having this amusing book—but you'd better have two copies because it’s not going to stay on the shelf for long.
