For ages, the people of the First Realm have lived peacefully. But the selfish and deceitful eldest son wreaks havoc in the hope to control and seize the realm creating a chaotic world. The sisters of the Bloodwind take the courage to fight the Evil and help secure a future for all humankind. Will they succeed in bringing back peace in the realm? Will they be able to finally put an end to this war?

Ava D. Dohn is certainly a wonderful writer. Undoubtedly, she has a unique talent. The first book of "The Chronicles of Heaven’s War" allows us to take a glimpse into how the author’s mind works. It also gives us a glimpse of the world the way she sees it. The story line itself is interesting – an alteration of life. The journey of the characters – the brothers and sisters – in this novel mirrors all the various walks of life in the real world. The wickedness of the eldest son and the courage of his brothers and sisters to fight against him are effective representations in exploring reality. It cannot be denied that this is a wonderful book to read because the characters are just so real. The realm that the author takes us into is an amazing place and this is proof of her rich imagination. This is one of those books that make you stop and think. After reading this book, you will definitely want to buy the next book in the series.

The First Realm is a place of eternal peace and freedom. Yet, its majestic liberation and tranquility ended due to the betrayal by the eldest son, who wants to control the realm for himself. "The Chronicles of Heaven’s War" is a chronicle of brave men and women battling against each other to save their realm and humanity before they are destroyed and cease to exist. “The Sisters of the BloodWind must pass away into nothing before the great and fear-inspiring day of my God. But, in their rebirth shall all men quail, because they are the trinity of good, bad, and evil.”

A heavenly world that I truly enjoyed. The narration is so beautifully descriptive that I can vividly imagine the world that author Ava D. Dohn created. It is such a fascinating story from such an astonishing perspective. Dohn clearly is a force to reckon with and her work is undoubtedly a classic. The characters are real and insightful, so bonding with them is easy. Mihai, however, is my favorite character – the brave yet hesitant field marshal, heavily burdened with regrets and self-doubt at times. I also gravitated towards Trisha and Darla; their characteristics are enlightening. Overall, this book is a classic and powerful as well. After only two pages I started to compare this novel to Tolkien’s works. I can see this book as a prominent material in Literature class. The story is for everyone and the message that it conveys is remarkable.

"The Chronicles of Heaven's War, Book I: Sisters of the Bloodwind" by Ava D Dohn is the story of the Sisters of Bloodwinds, the trinity of good, bad and evil. They are daughters of man, heaven and of course hell. The people of the first realm have lived in peace for as long as many can remember; they have freedom, pleasure and life that does not end. They are all innocent children that roam the universal playground that their mother created for them. But then chaos comes and everything changes. The innocent are tricked and war will rage.

Ava D Dohn has created a book with so many layers to it that you might have to read it more then once to fully understand everything. That said, you will want to read it again because it is that good. The characters will wrap themselves into your heart and stay there long after you finish reading "The Chronicles of Heaven's War." The story of war, and families against families, is as old as time itself, but it is presented here in a novel way that is sure to hold your attention. Those who fight for good are going to battle for human kind, the universe and something even more simple, something everyone can relate to: their mother. I felt a whole lot of emotions throughout the read here, anger at the trickster and worry and fear for those fighting. Moreover, I felt hope because no battle, whether in real life or on the page, is hopeless. Ava D Dohn has created a layered emotional masterpiece and I recommend everyone give it a read.
