Where Snow Leopard Prowls: Wild Animals of Tibet by Naomi C. Rose is a very informative and educational book that throws light on the Tibetan plateau and the wild animals that live there. The plateau provides diverse habitats that range from deserts, rocky cliffs, snow peaks, grasslands, forests, lakes, rivers and marshes. This is the perfect environment for different types of animals to survive. The high altitude makes the living conditions harsh, but many animals there have adapted to these challenging conditions. The book tells us about the animals weathering the extreme climate and the harshness of the plateau. The book also throws light on how the Tibetans live in harmony with nature and that they have a name for each mountain peak. There are also lake spirits, tree spirits and so on.

'Honor all those who live on this earth' - this is an apt quote from the book that tells us to preserve the habitat and its animals. It is a perfect book for libraries and children can use it for reference. Many new things, words and concepts are put together in this book. The illustrations make the contents attractive and give a clear idea as to what these animals look like. The art, tidbits, fun facts, the information and the details are very useful to readers. The activities pages at the end of the book are recommended for interactive sessions in classrooms. It is an ideal book for children who love animals.
