Your Sleep Map: Navigating Your Own Path to Relief from Insomnia by Thad R Harshbarger is packed with information about sleep, our needs, and more importantly how to deal with the different causes of sleeplessness. It considers all the possible explanations and guides us to better sleep and healthier life through the analysis of our sleep patterns and the probable causes of sleeplessness. It is extremely enjoyable and I do love the author’s sense of humor and frankness, for example: “First map: do you have insomnia? If not, you may consider reading something else.” The information is clear, easy to put into action, and valuable.

Your Sleep Map by Thad R Harshbarger is a comprehensive guide to everything related to sleep and sleeplessness. Insomnia is but a consequence, and Harshbarger, an experienced clinician, also provides us with an example of a basic sleep diary so that we can improve our methods of dealing with lack of sleep, and be efficient. All the steps are defined and explained thanks to the maps. The map system allows you to pick and choose which chapters to read, and which content to focus on to be effective. I found it to be concise, which will be appreciated as busy, tired people usually run out of time to read self-help books. We find useful and practical suggestions, while everything is analyzed in-depth, including the effects of sleep medication, melatonin, and herbal preparations. It also deals with what we may have already tried and why it did not work. Great advice, information, and explanations. I warmly recommend this extraordinary guide!

Your Sleep Map: Navigating Your Own Path to Relief from Insomnia by Thad R. Harshbarger is a helpful and practical guide on the management of insomnia. If you are suffering from insomnia, this book can help because you don’t need to suffer and let it interfere with your life. The book explores the different issues and situations that affect your sleeping conditions for you to discover the right sleep management for your insomnia. It begins by looking at the anatomy of the disorder—its symptoms and the number of your required hours of sleep. The book is divided into eleven chapters with sleep or treatment maps that provide you with ideas and suggestions. It guides you to make your own choices that can result in a significant change in your life.

Thad R. Harshbarger provides empirically-derived sleep management procedures for you, and they can be applied to large numbers of people with insomnia. This book serves as quick access to a wide range of options for managing your insomnia. Harshbarger makes it clear that the material he presents is accurate and helpful, based on his experience as a therapist and his training in insomnia treatment. It is important to note, however, that you are still the best judge of whether to use these applications or not. Your Sleep Map is a book that continues to develop and we may well see an updated version as studies in the field of insomnia treatment and management are a continuous process. This is a reader-friendly guide and a must-read for laymen, clinical trainees, sleep specialists, CBT clinicians who wish to begin the process of further learning, and those who want to get proper sleep management.

Your Sleep Map: Navigating Your Own Path to Relief from Insomnia by Thad R Harshbarger is a self-help book that would appeal most to a diverse audience of young adults and adults who suffer from insomnia or other sleep disorders. The book is designed to help people to connect decisions and actions to the cause of one’s own experiences. The book is organized into five sections: looking ahead, preparation, the journey, getting established in a new place, and unmapped. It provides not only a map, but also information about insomnia symptoms, history, and questions to be answered to help one understand the causes. Are you ready to learn about your insomnia, its causes, and its symptoms?

Your Sleep Map by Thad R Harshbarger is a well-written guide to insomnia that provides a clear understanding of the potential causes of insomnia and the treatment options. I liked the way that each chapter included a flow chart which helped me to keep track of both the book’s progress and mine as I examined my own symptoms against the different potential causes provided by the author. This book is an invaluable resource that helped me to gain a better understanding of my sleep issues than my doctor provided. I found this book to be a gold mine of information that I believe should be recommended by doctors to those who suffer from insomnia!
