Meet the Beast by Claire Grimes is the start of Monica and Hugo's story. Monica is a young woman from America who learns her father is sick with cancer and that her savings aren't enough to cover his treatment. So with the help of her friend Martha, Monica joins a website in the hopes of finding a sugar daddy. The search seems pointless at first, due to other members of the site saying she doesn't belong and potential sugar daddies saying she is asking for too much money. Thankfully she meets Hugo, a man in England who is willing to pay for her father's treatment if she agrees to fly to England and become his wife. Monica agrees and she finds that Hugo might be the man of her dreams, but Hugo has a secret. When Monica learns it, she thinks that she can't live with Hugo and his secret until she looks at things differently - and then she realizes that she can't live with herself if she can't try to overlook Hugo's secret.
Meet the Beast by Claire Grimes is short but hard to put down. This book was amazing. Claire Grimes puts a current spin on Beauty and the Beast and gives more depth and feeling to the characters while making it feel like Hugo and Monica could step off the pages and finish telling you their story instead of you having to read it. I wish that Meet the Beast was longer and that Hugo and Monica's story wasn't split into different books, but I will be looking for the following books in the Beastly Beauty series to see how Monica and Hugo's story goes.
