To Find... Again: A Poem Anthology by Shemique Blair is a collection of the author's original work, harnessed by the experiences of her life in raw, honest verse. There is a gradual progression in the way that the entire compilation is formatted, beginning with a relationship nearing its end with a huge heartbreak and culminating after the processing of grief, working on oneself, and rebuilding with the dawn of something new and beautiful. The poems are stylized as free verse, but within them, they have distinct techniques. For example, A Love Letter to Me is almost like a conversation—a self-affirmation acknowledging past pain but celebrating personal growth and resilience. More formally, Healing of the Heart is a metaphorical piece, comparing love to natural elements and portraying it as ever-present, requiring openness and faith to experience.

Shemique Blair's To Find...Again is a mosaic of emotions. Each piece resonates with an innate understanding of the human experience, whether maneuvering the paths of sorrow, embracing the sparks of newfound love, or considering the complex nature of any relationship. For me, what sets this anthology apart is the blend of vulnerability with strength, where solace and guidance are offered in equal measure. My favorite was Honored to be Loved, which expresses gratitude for a partner's sincere love, acknowledging the depth and authenticity of their affection. Blair's verses are likely to feel like empathetic companions to readers, bringing validation and understanding to the wounded heart and inspiration to those seeking to rebuild. A must-read for anyone on their journey to rediscovery.

To Find... Again: A Poem Anthology by Shemique Blair celebrates her healing journey from heartbreak after the ending of a relationship to finding love, hope, and faith in marriage again. Twenty-six free verse poems are divided into five topic areas capturing the stages of her journey: To Find Truth… Again, To Find Me… Again, To Find Hope… Again, To Find Love… Again, and To Find the One. The poems vary in length and tone, capturing her changing emotions as she moves from the disappointment and regret of a failed relationship, through self-assessment and the rediscovery of inner strengths to seeing the divorce in a positive light and eventually looking forward to a happy future in a new relationship and marriage. Several line drawings by the author are also included.

In To Find... Again, Shemique Blair gives us a beautiful collection that is filled with vivid imagery and vibrant emotions. You don’t just read the words; you experience the inner growth and resilience they convey that comes from passing through troubled times and being better for it afterward. The change in tone through the stages of healing is as clear as seeing the truth of a relationship through a crystal ball (The Loss) or accepting that it’s OK to be crushed so long as you’re never defeated (A Lesson in Humility). “Life has no pause button,” Blair reminds us, as she conveys the strength of love in the image of a rose rising through concrete In the Shadows). This is an engaging and relatable collection of free verse poems.

Shemique Blair's To Find... Again is a moving poetry collection that explores themes of heartbreak and finding love once again. "The Loss" showcases the feelings of shame, anger, regret, and disbelief a man goes through when he loses the love and trust of a good woman. In "Not Today," the narrator is determined not to let fear, anxiety, and insecurities take over their life. "A Lesson in Humility" is an admission of how the trials and tribulations of life help us grow and learn, opening the doors to new opportunities. "The Start" marks the beginning of a new relationship and the forging of a connection that could last a lifetime. "Second Chances" is a poignant reminder of how few and far between we get second chances in life.

To Find... Again is an emotionally resonant collection of poems that touch upon topics related to heartbreak, love, hope, and faith. Drawing inspiration from her life experiences, Shemique Blair pens some touching verses that will stir the strings of your heart and leave you with hope for the future. Blair creates some mesmerizing verses to showcase the pain and ramifications of lost love and the search for love, ending the collection by celebrating the love that brings us joy, hope, meaning, and purpose in our lives. Blair's poetry style is intimate and personal but, most importantly, refreshingly authentic. Each verse is meticulously crafted, while every poem brings something unique of its own to the narrative. Overall, the collection is a must-read for romance lovers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I think you will too!
