Herphus (Her fuss) is a delightful children’s story about a blood hound that wanted to do something important. Her parents were super tracking bloodhounds. She decided to chew her rope, dig a hole under the fence and search for an adventure. Along the way she saw a poodle with, what appeared to Herphus to be, a diamond necklace. A bunch of police cars caught her attention. A child had been kidnapped. The “professional” bloodhounds were on the job and laughed at Herphus when she tried to help. When a police officer dropped one of the child’s shoes, Herphus sniffed and sniffed so she could remember the scent. The professional dogs lost the scent when they came to a creek. Herphus wouldn’t give up and kept looking. She followed the scent (with the help of some woodland friends) to a cave. Herphus was afraid but she would not stop. Aroooo! Aroooo! Howled Herphus, the police came running into the cave. Herphus did something very important. She saved the little boy.

Herphus will keep youngsters turning pages to see what will happen next. The characters in this book will fascinate children. The plot will hold their attention. Everyone wants to do something important, even the tiniest child or a bloodhound named Herphus.
